Fudan university unveils AI model for Children’s brain health combining clinical expertise with cutting-edge global research in brain health.
Shanghai’s Fudan University, in collaboration with its affiliated Children’s Hospital and Digital Health China Technologies Co Ltd, has launched an advanced AI-powered large model specifically aimed at improving children’s brain health.
The hospital, a national center for pediatric medicine, stated that the model combines clinical expertise with cutting-edge global research in brain health to deliver innovative care solutions.
The model incorporates evidence-based medical guidelines and utilizes dual-engine, multi-modal technology provided by the enterprise, enhancing its potential for clinical use and decision-making.
Wang Yi, president of Fudan University’s Children’s Hospital, explained that the model allows integration of medical reports and test results from various institutions, and generates detailed evaluations using screening tools, clinical signs, EEGs, and other diagnostic inputs.
She added that this capability minimizes the chances of misdiagnoses and helps healthcare workers by offering automated key data extraction, quick detection of abnormalities, AI-supported diagnosis, and valuable insights into complex neurological conditions.
Wang also noted that the model will support families and educational institutions by enabling multi-scenario screening and assessments, paving the way for early identification and timely intervention in brain health issues among children.
